Do you know what Gastronomic patriotism is? That crazy desire to continue eating food from our land when we are residing abroad. Not that I say so, but things are like that. Every Spaniard @ would like to bring: His mother, friends, the bar on the corner where he spends his life and the food of his land.
Our parents and friends visit us whenever they can, we have a great time and we always want them to stay a little longer … About the bar on the corner, we can’t do much. But when we talk about Spanish food, one forgets even his friends. We owe everything that comes our way, the packages sent to us from Spain are never enough and it doesn’t matter how many hours our mother spends in the kitchen when she comes to see us. WE ALWAYS WANT MORE.
We are not weirdos or anything like that, we know how to eat other things. But there is no color, we have sucked it since we were little and the withdrawal syndrome is very, very hard. In Europe things are different, we are integrated, with work, friends and we know how to enjoy our free time. But don’t ask us to give up our Gastronomy. Each country has impressive dishes, but to try them you have to go to restaurants and every day like no.
In part I think it is because gastronomy is what continues to unite us with our country. Finding Spanish food in Europe is now much easier. There are specialized supermarkets or category online stores. Even large supermarkets have put the batteries, at the level of labeling they do it fantastic, another thing is the product that is inside. If you were in Spain you would not want it or a gift. As I have spoken before, we are moved by gluttony and in sin itself is penance.
Understand me #FoodLovers. Everyone has their own tastes, but why should we have to buy mediocre products online when we can enjoy the good at the same price? As good children of our mothers, we have grown up feeding ourselves with the best dishes, maybe they have spoiled us a bit, but that is another issue. There are Spanish foods and SPANISH FOODS and we do not settle for just anything. #WeLikeOur
