Sharp Organic Goat Cheese is made with natural ingredients, in which no pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilisers have been used. Only ingredients with organic traceability: Made with raw goat's milk from organic production, vegetable rennet, oil and salt.
This cheese contains lactose. It is gluten-free, so it is suitable for coeliacs.
Sharp Organic Goat Cheese characteristics
We present a Sharp Organic Cheese, a pure goat's cheese made from 100% goat's milk from the Los Balanchares dairy's own livestock. Los Balanchares is more than a cheese factory, it is an environment located in Cordoba, which has a large area of natural pastures where goats and sheep live together with the cheese factory where the cheeses are made.
The cured goat's cheese with organic certification is wedge-shaped, weighs 250 gr. and is vacuum-packed to extend its life. It is a cheese that is considered cured as it is matured for more than 6 months. In particular, this wedge is obtained from 2.5 kg pieces.
This Sharp Organic Cheese has a natural rind and can be eaten. The rind has a pale white colour and the relief produced by the mould can be distinguished. The cheese has a firm texture both on the outside and inside. The rind has been hardened with oil. However, the cheese itself is not hard, it is not brittle. In the mouth it has a mild flavour, with a goaty aroma, hints of oil and a taste of salt. You can tell from the taste that this cheese is made from pasteurised milk.
The Los Balanchares cheese factory takes special care in the feeding of the livestock used to make the cheese. On the one hand, they use natural fertilisers to cultivate the pastures and have a large area for the goats to live comfortably and have enough organic grass to feed them.
